Overall I liked it, but if I start breaking it down, it would seem like I don't like it. First, Brandon Routh as Big Blue. Dude can't do anything about the way he looks, and I'm going to believe that the hairdo for Clark Kent wasn't his idea. He doesn't convey being The Man of Steel to me. Some shots he looks a little rugid most he looks a little swishy. But I'll give him a little credit, not that Chris Reeve was the greatest actor but he was really good as Sup, and you play the role your gonna get compared. Maybe that's what holding up the Wonder Woman movie. Lynda Carter was perfect as WW. And Christian Bale couldn't lose following up George Cloney. Back to Routh, the whole movie seemed like he was trying to imitate Chris Reeve, he didn't make the part his. Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane, she was d**n cute, but the character doesn't have that do anything for the story quality that Margot Kidder's character did. Maybe it's because she's a mommy now. And since when is Cyclops tapping Lois Lane, James Marsden from the X-Men movies plays her fiance Richard White. Now, Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, he made the movie, well that and the CGI. I don't know if he was that much better than Gene Hackman, they're both great actors, but he seemed more evil. Brilliant. The look of the movie is awesome, my 15 year old nephew, who isn't into comic movies, stayed in his seat the whole show, a first in all the times we've taken him to movies, and afterward said "that was a great movie". It's worth seeing, if you're a Superman fan you may find it a little weak and it fits nowhere into comic continuity. but it was very well done, the effects are awesome. I was a little chocked up in the credits where they dedicate the movie to Christopher and Dana Reeve. That was a touching move. Oh, one last thing, Jimmy Olsen's got this whole Brokeback Daily Planet thing going on with Clark Kent. Dudes way to happy to see Clark back. __________________

yeah jimmy was waaaaaaaaay too happy to see him and at least after seeing this movie (admitidly only 2 moths ago) i know where cyclops buggered off to after jean grey "killed" him (she didnt kill him!!! she wiped his memory, took away his powers and fecked him off to another dimension!!! phht! simple . . . )
anywho, i don't know what to make of this film. it was great in parts but was really just non-awe-inspiring in others. i agree with everything you have to say Bats and i think singer could have done soooo much more with this movie. if he is aproaching it from the angle where it's a set-up to do another one then cool but superman in this day and age with all the CGI technological breakthroughs movie-makers have at their dispossal should have been really cool! i know he had to re-introduce the franchise but c'mon it's so. . .bloody. . .boring! after he stopped that plane from crashing (which was pretty cool) they should have gone nuts and introduced a whole new character from the comics. some excellent supervillan. spacey was gr8 a s luthor but let's face it he was no Gene Hackman *bows respectfully*. i'm not a huge fan of supes but think they could have done a whole lot more. . .apparently due to dvd sales they have been given the green light for another . . . eep!!!

I'd have rather seen Tom Welling as Big Blue.

I'd have rather seen Tom Welling as Big Blue. He looks too much like Super"boy" in that pic, but I know where you're going with it, dudes pushing 30, I want to see him do this before the series, Smallville, ends (which will hopefully be soon).

Yeah, that try to make him still looklike a kid on the show. Is this a little more Super"man"ly?
